There’s Nothing

Standard

There’s nothing
in this world
to make me love
YOU.
There’s nothing
YOU
can do to make
your wish
come true.
There’s nothing
YOU
can say to change
my train
of thought.
There’s nothing
YOU
can dream that
can fulfil
the wish
YOU
have sought.

Presence

Standard

Here I lie
In my hospital
bed.
I feel their presence
They touch my
head.
Tubes enter my
body,
Nutrients keep me
fed.
They’re talking
together
I hear what’s
said
Please wait a while
longer,
I’m not yet
dead.

The Unknown lover

Standard

The worn antique clock chimes the hour.
The Art Deco mirror hangs on the wall.
The book, pencil rest on the desk.
We lounge across the furniture.
Has ANYONE
come?
NOBODY
has come.
Have YOU
received any
letters?
Yes, there is
ONE.
What does
IT say?
What is
LOVE?
WHO
wrote it?
There is NO
signature,
only a line of
KISSES.

What’s the Difference

Standard

You ask
have I missed you.
Yes,
like the sand
and the sea.
What difference does
it make,
as long as you’ve
missed me.

I
will always be there,
ready to take command.
What’s the
difference if I
do.
We both know where
We stand.

As long as there is
no stranger to
beat us at our
game.
What’s the difference
who’s the leader.
It is only we
who can stake a
claim.

The two of us ahead
of friends or others.
What’s the difference
who wins.
We will still remain
as lovers.

The wisdom of Experience

Standard

I thought I could
be loved.
But
It appeared that
there was
No-one who
would offer
Me
That gift.
They looked,
But
There was no
contact.
They smiled,
But
There was no
meaning.
They smirked and
faked interest.
I sneered,
I knew
their game.
I moved on,
enjoying my life
with the
wisdom of experience.
